"Sakagura – Lunch Review Stopped into Sakagura for lunch and had a pleasant, relaxed experience overall. We started with a bottle of sake, which the restaurant presented in a thoughtful and creative way. The server poured the first glass using a vessel that held ice to keep the sake chilled, while the rest of the bottle was kept on ice at the table. It was a small touch, but one that showed attention to detail and helped maintain the proper temperature throughout the meal. For food, we began with the toro sashimi. It ate more like chu-toro than the richer o-toro that we were expecting, and the fish had been cut along the sinew, which made parts of it a bit chewy. It wasn’t bad by any means, but compared with the other dishes it felt like the least memorable item of the meal. The beef tataki, on the other hand, was excellent. Lightly seared and served with soy and a dab of the house sauce, it was flavorful and nicely balanced. The standout dish was the seared black cod. Cooked over coals and finished with a sweet miso-soy glaze, the fish was beautifully fleshy and deeply satisfying — easily the highlight of the lunch. Service throughout was friendly, efficient, and personal without being intrusive, which added to the relaxed feel of the meal. Overall, while not every dish was perfect, the strong execution on the mains and the warm service made it an enjoyable visit. I’d happily return to Sakagura again."

"Great meal that was very carefully and expertly crafted by the chef's. I sat by the cooking station and really enjoyed watching the chefs prepare the food. Drinks were very well made as well. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving sushi in the BGC area of Manila. Seems like most ingredients are imported from Japan and are very high quality. The bar area and sake menu is extensive giving a good amount of variety to those with diverse palates. Looking forward to coming back soon."

"Had a great experience at Sakagura. The service was excellent from start to finish. Bartender John was very knowledgeable and explained the drinks well, including their ingredients and flavor profiles. He also gave great recommendations, and the drinks he suggested were really good. Cel, who served us, was very lively, friendly, and accommodating, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Special mention as well to RC the sushi chef, the sashimi presentation was beautifully done and very impressive. Overall, the food, drinks, and service were all outstanding."
